Pumpkin Party Halloween Food: Pick Your RecipesIn keeping with the orange/pumpkin theme, the following is a list of pumpkin recipes and orange-flavored/colored foods which you can prepare for your upcoming Halloween bash.
Orange "Jack-o-Lanterns"Ingredients:
1. Slice the tops off the oranges about 1" down from the top. Scoop out the pulp and place in a bowl. 2. Cut up the other fruit into bite size pieces and mix together with the orange pieces. 3. Draw pumpkin faces on all the oranges. Fill the oranges with the fruit mixture. Stick plastic white spoons into each orange for eating. Orange Jelly DelightIngredients:
1. Mix vanilla pudding according to package directions. Chill. 2. Mix Jell-O according to package directions. Place in an 8" x 8" square pan. Chill until set. 3. Cut the Jell-O into 1" cubes, divide the cubes into 2 bowls. Divide the pudding in half as well. Using the first half of the pudding, scoop pudding into 8 parfait glasses. Add a layer of Jell-O, another layer of pudding and a final layer of Jell-O. 4. Scoop whipped cream on top. Top with an orange candy or gummy bear. Insert a long handled plastic parfait spoon into each parfait glass.
Roasted Pumpkin SeedsIngredients:
1. Wash seeds thoroughly of any remaining pulp. Pat dry on paper towels. 2. In a bowl combine pumpkinseeds, oil and salt. Mix thoroughly. 3. 1. In a large pitcher, mix orange juice and grapefruit juice concentrates. (For the adults also add the rum and the orange liqueur). 2. Gently stir in the soda water. Add ice cubes to chill. Serve at once.
