Outdoor Halloween Decoration: Make It Creepy With Glow-In-The-Dark PaintsHere's a great outdoor Halloween decoration idea for your next party. The strategic use of lights and glow in the dark paint, along with spooky glow-in-the-dark items
Glowing Hands On The Door - Dip a hand in washable yellow glow paint and grab the door knob to leave a clear print behind. If you'd like to add a hand print or two on the door itself, you should either test a small inconspicuous place on the door to be sure the paint washes off clean or make a painted hand print on paper or cardboard then cut it out and tape it to the door. Leading The Way Footprints - Use some old sneakers or shoes for this. Pour some paint into a paint tray and use a small roller to roll the paint onto the bottom of your shoes. Make footprints up your walkway. You will need to reapply the paint to your shoes every few steps. Peeping Eyes - Carefully trace out two eye shapes on cardboard. Use the paints to fill in the eye ball and the pupil. Punch a small hole in the corners of both eyes and tie them to a bush using fishing line or wire. Evil Pumpkins Are Watching You - Using Styrofoam pumpkins, carefully draw out whatever type of face you'd like to feature on each pumpkin - the creepier the better. Fill in the features with glow-in-the-dark paint that you would normally "cut out" of a real pumpkin. Set the pumpkins up lining the walk or peeking out around trees, bushes and lawn furniture. Graveyard Glowies - Use the paints to highlight the words on tombstones within your graveyard set up. Those are just a few ideas that can be easily put together to help add some atmosphere to your yard this Halloween. I'm sure you can probably think of more, such as putting the "glow" into the eyes of bats, witches and other creepy critters. You may also want to carefully position some black lights throughout your yard to keep any outdoor Halloween decoration pieces glowing well into the night. Happy haunting this year! |
