Friendly Fiendish Invites: Making Monster Party Invitations

Check local department stores for themed monster party invitations. You can send them out as is or, using a bit of creativity, jazz them up a bit with additional monster stickers, glitter paints, or what have you.

The invitation on the left is quite easy to make, if you wish to create your own cards.

Start with an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of heavy white cardstock and cut it into quarters - this will give you 4 invitations per sheet. Write or print out the wording at the top as follows:

Don't be scared of a monster or two
At our Halloween party, they won't harm you.
Just come along and don't hesitate,
To the haunted manor, but don't be late.

All manner of creature is invited to attend,
Vampires, werewolves, mummies on the mend.
Please join us at our mad monster mash,
And go to this address for our Halloween bash.

Add a graphic, sticker, or glue a printed cutout of a haunted house to the bottom corner of each Halloween invitation. Fill in the rest of the details, providing your name, address, date and time of the party, plus your phone number so people can let you know whether they are coming or not.

A Masquerade Party For Famous Movie Monsters

Here's a great twist on costume selection for your Halloween party. Invite your friends to dress as their favorite movie monster... but the creature of their choice has to come in disguise, just as if "Dracula" or "Frankenstein" were actually the ones attending a masquerade ball!

Here's an idea for the invitation that you can duplicate. I did this up quite quickly using a graphics program, however it could also easily be done on homemade cards using some monster stickers, and handwriting the rest of the information. By the way, this is a folded card and the details (host/hostess, address, time, date, etc.) are found inside the card.
