Halloween Howl - Halloween Fun For The Whole Family

Look Into Your Future: Fortune Teller Party Invitations

From beginning to end, your party should carry an element of mystery. When designing or choosing fortune teller party invitations think of mystical and magical things that reflect this theme. Graphics, pictures and stickers of crystal balls, gypsy fortune tellers, a full moon, and glittery stars are just the thing.

Use invitation backgrounds that are black, midnight blue, or a deep royal purple. Trim and enhance them with gold glitter pens and/or glue for added affect. For information on what should be included on the invitation, as well as additional ideas, read our Halloween party invitations page.

Below are some ideas that you can use to create your own fortune teller party invitations. Most of these were done with a graphics program, however you could easily put them together by hand with card making supplies (I've provided instructions on how to do this).

Use a purple, blue or gold felt-tipped markers to write the required information on the invitation. When making your own Halloween invitations be sure to use heavier paper or cardstock so that they don't bend or crinkle easily. The two designs shown on this page are made so that you should be able to fit four invites on one 8½" x 11" sheet of cardstock.

Look Into The Future - Fortune Telling Party Invitation

Look Into Your Future Invitations

For this invitation you will need the following (makes 4 invites):

One 8½" x 11" piece of purple cardstock
One 8½" x 11" piece of white cardstock
Yellow/gold, black, and purple markers
Paper craft glue
Fortune teller graphic or sticker

Instructions:

1. Measure out to the center both lengthwise and widthwise on your purple cardstock. Cut into 4 equal sections. Do the same with your white cardstock.

2. Take your white cardstock and measure 1/2" in from the top. Draw a line and cut off this top section. Do the same along ONE side of the paper as well. You should now have 4 pieces of white cardstock that measure 3¾"W x 5"H.

3. Center and glue the white cardstock to the purple cardstock.

4. You can do the following by hand or use a printer, setting your choice of font and colors. Just be sure you get things aligned so that when you are ready to print on the invitation, everything comes out right. Do a few test prints on scrap paper first to be sure.

Along the top portion of your invitation, use a yellow or gold marker to write: "Look Into Your Future!" Below this in purple write: "You are invited to a Fortune Telling Party".

5. Use the black marker to print down the side: Host, Date, Time, Place, and RSVP. Fill in the information to the right of these with your purple marker. For RSVP, be sure to include your phone number.

6. At the bottom of the fortune teller party invitation, add a graphic or sticker of a fortune teller or a table with a crystal ball on it. Use your purple marker to write: "Yes! The spirits speak to me. Listen well... you are to come dressed as a gypsy .

Gypsy Prediction Invitation

This second invitation is one that is designed to fold and uses one half of a sheet of 8½" x 11" paper, therefore you should be able to get two invitations from it. If you are doing this on a computer, you will need to remember to print the front of the invitation on the right side of the fold (which will be the cover), then turn the paper over and print the information again on the right side of the fold. Do NOT flip your paper upside down.

It's In The Cards Invitation

You will need the following materials (makes 4 invites):

One 8½" x 11" piece of black cardstock
One 8½" x 11" piece of white cardstock
Black markers
Paper craft glue
Fortune teller or crystal ball graphic or sticker

Instructions:

1. Mainly, follow the steps listed above for the "Look Into Your Future Invitations" on how to put the cards together.

2. The wording at the top will be: "It's In The Cards! You're Invited To A Halloween Party." And at the bottom: "It's a Night of Fortunes, Fun and Friends. Gypsy costumes suggested."

Other Ideas To Write On Your Invitations

There are many other ways you can address your invitation. Here are some suggestions from old Halloween verses and rhymes:

Come at early candlelight
And learn your fate before midnight.

The last night in October, if you'd know your fate,
Just come to our house at a half after eight.

If eight is not the hour, you could replace the second line with:
"Just come to our house. Be sure you're not late."
