Simple and Creative Halloween Costumes To MakeYou've waited until the last minute and now you're stuck on what to wear out for Halloween. Don't dispair. Here are four quick and creative Halloween costumes that you can throw together and are suitable for men, women, girls or boys.
Ladybug CostumeThis one is really quite simple to put together using your own clothes and some easy to get items.Materials Needed: 1 red sweatshirt or cotton shirt 1 red knit hat 1 pair of black tights or black pants black fabric marker 2 black pipe cleaners 2 small plack pom-poms 1 pair black stretch gloves glue gun Instructions: 1) With your black fabric pen, draw and fill in circles here and there on the red sweatshirt and the red cap. Alternatively, you could also cut circles from black felt and attach with either a glue gun or double-sided fusible sewing tape. 2) Poke two holes through the front of the cap about 3 inches apart and loop a pipe cleaner through each hole. Twist the bottom end together to secure. Twist the pipe cleaners into swirls and glue a pom-pom to each end. These are your antenas. 3) Put your outfit on and you're done! Bubble BathAnyone can wear this unique Halloween costume, although it would probably appeal more to girls/women, rather than men or boys. On the other hand, it would be amusing to go as a "bathing" couple!Materials Needed: 1 white, long sleeve shirt 1 pair of white pants or tights 1 shower cap 1-2 packages of white, round balloons 1 yellow rubber duck small safety pins Instructions: 1) Blow up the balloons about half to one third of the way (so they don't pop as easy). 2) Using the small safety pins, attach the ends of the balloons all over the front of the shirt, and down the arms. Do not apply balloons to the back of the shirt... you need to be able to sit comfortably. 3) Tape the rubber duck to one of the balloons in front, put on your outfit and you're ready to make a splash at the Halloween party. Note: You will probably want to wait until you get to where you are going before putting on the shirt, as the balloons may pop. Bring along a few extra balloons in your pocket, so if you need to replace any, you can quickly blow one up and attach it to your outfit. Theatre PopcornAs far as creative Halloween costumes go... this one is certainly unique! Dress up as a bag of theatre popcorn! Bring along a real bag of popped popcorn in case you get hungry.Materials Needed: 1 red sweatshirt 1 red visor 1 yard length of white felt iron-on fabric adhesive yellow fabric marker or paint 1 small piece of blue felt white fabric marker or paint Instructions: 1) Cut 2 inch wide strips of white felt the length of the shirt (shoulder/neckline to hem). Secure these to the front of the shirt with iron-adhesive or use a glue-gun. 2) Using scraps of white felt, cut out cloud-shaped circles about 3-4 inches in diameter. Paint the middle of each in yellow. This is your popcorn. Glue the "popcorn" along the neckline, shoulders and upper chest area. Also glue some to the front of your visor. 3) Cut a 8x4 inch rectangle out of the blue felt and write: Popcorn 50¢ on the front of it with white fabric paint. Iron-on or glue this to the front of the shirt below the popcorn. 4) You may want to wear either red, black or white pants and red stretch gloves to complete the outfit. Candy CornThese ever popular candies are out in full-force during the Halloween season. So why not add your sweetness to the bunch? Here's a quick idea for a costume that you can easily put together.Materials Needed: 1 child's birthday party hat 1 jar of white craft paint 1 yellow sweatshirt or turtleneck 1 pair of red/orange pants or tights Instructions: 1) Paint the party hat completely white. Let dry. 2) Get dressed! As you can see, dreaming up creative Halloween costumes to wear can be a fun exercise when using your imagination. Just look around your home, office or other locations for unique ideas. |
