Simple Last Minute Halloween Costumes To Makeby Rose Smith, (c) 2005 ** Bubble Bath ** Anyone can wear this costume, although it would probably appeal more to girls/women, rather than men or boys. On the other hand, it would be amusing to go as a "bathing" couple! Materials Needed: 1 white, long sleeve shirt 1 pair of white pants or tights 1 shower cap 1-2 packages of white, round balloons 1 yellow rubber duck small safety pins Instructions: 1) Blow up the balloons about half to one third of the way (so they don't pop as easy). 2) Using the small safety pins, attach the ends of the balloons all over the front of the shirt, and down the arms. Do not apply balloons to the back of the shirt... you need to be able to sit comfortably. 3) Tape the rubber duck to one of the balloons in front, put on your outfit and you're ready to make a splash at the Halloween party. Note: You will probably want to wait until you get to where you are going before putting on the shirt, as the balloons may pop. Bring along a few extra balloons in your pocket, so if you need to replace any, you can quickly blow one up and attach it to your outfit. ** Theatre Popcorn ** Here's a really unique Halloween costume idea... go as a bag of theatre popcorn! Bring along a real bag of popped popcorn in case you get hungry. Materials Needed: 1 red sweatshirt 1 red visor 1 yard length of white felt iron-on fabric adhesive yellow fabric marker or paint 1 small piece of blue felt white fabric marker or paint Instructions: 1) Cut 2 inch wide strips of white felt the length of the shirt (shoulder/neckline to hem). Secure these to the front of the shirt with iron-adhesive or use a glue-gun. 2) Using scraps of white felt, cut out cloud-shaped circles about 3-4 inches in diameter. Paint the middle of each in yellow. This is your popcorn. Glue the "popcorn" along the neckline, shoulders and upper chest area. Also glue some to the front of your visor. 3) Cut a 8x4 inch rectangle out of the blue felt and write: Popcorn 50¢ on the front of it with white fabric paint. Iron-on or glue this to the front of the shirt below the popcorn. 4) You may want to wear either red, black or white pants and red stretch gloves to complete the outfit. ** Candycorn ** These ever popular candies are out in full-force during the Halloween season. So why not add your sweetness to the bunch? Here's a quick idea for a costume that you can easily put together. Materials Needed: 1 child's birthday party hat 1 jar of white craft paint 1 yellow sweatshirt or turtleneck 1 pair of red/orange pants or tights Instructions: 1) Paint the party hat completely white. Let dry. 2) Get dressed! |
