Halloween For The StiffsMany stiffs aren’t into Halloween because it’s not interesting to them. Maybe they aren’t into the spooky factor of haunted houses and scary movies, or maybe they don’t agree with Halloween because of these things. But what they don’t realize is that Halloween is more than ghosts, vampires and witches galore. There are many different sides of the holiday. Finding an aspect of Halloween that suits the stiffs in your life is the key to showing them how they can enjoy the season. For family members who don’t get into Halloween, try to keep the aspect of family in the picture. Make them a card with a picture of the kids or the family carving pumpkins or putting up decorations, and have everyone sign the card. Family members love to be included in celebrations, and sending them this greeting will make the season seem more family-oriented, and make them feel included in your holiday. As far as co-workers go, it’s pretty hard for most people to object to food. Bring in a bowl of candy or a basket of autumn-themed baked goods such as pumpkin cookies or muffins. Tasty treats help remind the stiffs that one of the finer points of the Halloween season is the goodies. Grouchy neighbors who stick their nose up at decorations and refuse to give out candy to trick-or-treaters are probably the hardest for Halloween enthusiast to relate to. But remember, whatever the reason for their mood, there usually is a reason. It’s not just that these people are trying to be difficult. If you’re friendly with your neighbors and want to bring them some Halloween spirit, a basket of mini pumpkins and Indian corn always brings the essence of autumn with a Halloween undertone. Add some sweets or baked goods, or if you grow pumpkins yourself, give them one or two for baking. Assorted gifts like these aren’t necessarily dubbed Halloween-related, and even the stiffs usually enjoy the season of autumn itself. Bringing the spirit of Halloween through these small acts of kindness does more than pass along fun celebrations and traditions. It makes the people in your life feel special because you thought of them during one of your favorite times of the year. Suiting the holiday to their individual tastes can make the Halloween stiffs in your life see the season in a whole new light – one that has been lit especially for them.
